moving with the currents

I’ve been thinking a lot about evolution. Not the scientific theory of Evolution, but the word “evolution,” as in the act of evolving. Oxford defines it as “the gradual development of something,” which I like that word too - “gradual”. It hints to subtle and, possibly, gentle change.

Change is good, yet sometimes scary, aggravating, or up-ending. Which is why I’m encouraging us to embrace it fully. Whatever your version of change may be, know that I am rooting for you to take it head on with grace and strength.

A new year is coming, and with it a new chapter of this unique evolution is opening up for us. So, in this new year, I give you a challenge. Are you ready? If you’re not, that’s ok. But I’ll leave it here for you anyways, just in case one day you decide it’s time.

Whatever your version of evolution may be - whatever your big change is - sit in silence with it for 5 minutes. Encompass all of the wonderful things that are yet to come, even if you can’t see what they are yet. Life is constantly evolving, and we can make the choice to move right along with the currents.

You have a light ahead of you. All you have to do is reach for it.
